To assist in the effort to convey new Detroit music to the masses. h3o Entertainment started two record labels h3o Recordings with its first debut release “Legendary” dist. by Electrofunk Records - Sept 2008 a techno/house compilation featuring the brightest in Detroit techno: Ray 7 (Los Hermanos, UR, and Tek Bros.) B. Calloway (Bhive ENT. Electrofunk, Submerge Recordings) Mr. Fuss (Red Planet Live) along with Body Mechanic and DJ Spade. h3o Recordings also added local rappers to the roster Dick Whyte & tha Nasty Boyz, Young Fly, Tyrone Roundtree & Faceman.
The second venture in spreading the love of Detroit music is with EPM distribution DTR - Detroit Techno Records tat already has over 15 releases to date. Releases like the Dr. Detroit EP, We Want Sum Pucsi EP’s 1 & 2 from the great Body Mechanic. DJ Spade broke new ground with two EP releases out the gate The Watch EP & Le Trou Noir EP. Other artists like Lego tha Cook went on to become DTR’s #1 selling artist of 2009 with the hit “Soul“. While Dick Whyte & the Nasty Boyz is the group that is now being tagging the new 2 Live Crew.
